Colonial Wood Carving
Julio Farfan is the youngest of 4 generations of wood-carvers here in Ollantaytambo.  The colonial wood carving technique is alive and continues to be used in the intricate decoration of churches, chapels and private homes.  Join Julio in his workshop located inside an Inka construction withinthe oldtown of Ollantaytambo where he will teach you the elements of this beautiful art.

Huamanpita Basket-Making
Basket-making is one of the oldest arts, practiced throughout all indigenous communities.  Learn this art and make a basket of your own with Pancho Carbajal, who continues this practice from generation to generation.  The freshly-picked huamanpita branches which Pancho picks during dusk, are carefully woven to make the baskets found throughout the Peruvian Andes.
